What’s New On ClubPenguin?

October 31, 2008 by briantimmy

What’s New?

<!– –>

Hi Everyone – Screenhog here.

I hope you’re enjoying the dark and stormy version of Club Penguin. I also hope that you’ve gone exploring to find all of the fun Halloween decorations. The team put a lot of effort into making sure this was a really great Halloween Party!

The party will be ending November 2nd, but before it ends, make sure that you see “Night of the Living Sled 2″ — So many penguins loved “Night of the Living Sled” last year that we gave it a sequel! You can go to the Night Club and the Lighthouse to watch both parts.

nightpic.jpgOne of the biggest secrets of this year’s party is the green candle. If you’ve done the scavenger hunt, you’ve probably already found the secret passageway…

Oh! And I probably should mention the storm that’s blown over Club Penguin this Halloween… it’s always cool seeing what Club Penguin looks like in the dark. If you click on the sky in most areas, you’ll make lightning flash! And speaking of lightning, there sure seems to be a lot of it in the area of The Dojo…

Let the team know what you think of the decorations at the party.

Until then…Waddle On!

Hello Penguins!

The Halloween Party has started! And with all the possibilities for costumes, it’s an awesome chance for you and your penguin friends to let your creativity out!!

hall4.jpg
Some of you have mentioned that the huge storm that’s blowing through Club Penguin is making things look pretty dark and just perfect for Halloween! Even with that storm and the darkness, you still should be able to do the cool scavenger hunt! You can pick up your pumpkin basket at the Snow Forts to get started — Let us know what you think!

In Other News: The team is thrilled with your excitement around the new Club Penguin toys and the Treasure Book items. We’ve heard from a lot of you about things that you’d like to see. We love getting your feedback, so keep it coming!

Until then…Waddle On!

Hello Penguins!

We’ve heard from so many of you that you are loving The Treasure Book and that those of you who have codes from toys and books are having fun getting your items online. Some of you have had a few more questions about the process.

treasure book.jpgFor those of you who asked how you get access to The Treasure Book, look for Club Penguin toys and books that have the “Unlock Items Online” icon. When you’re entering a code from a toy or a secret word from a book, it must be entered exactly. Codes can only be used once – so keep them safe! Also, make sure to redeem all the items attached with the code before you click “Done”!

A lot of you have said you like the MP3000 inside The Treasure Book — We’d love know what else you’d like to see more of in future Treasure Books!!

Until then…Waddle On!

Hello Penguins!

Some of you have said that the Halloween Party is your very favorite party in Club Penguin and we hope you’re ready with your costumes and spooky decorations — because this year’s Halloween Party in Club Penguin begins Wednesday!!

halloween.jpgThere’s going to be cool decorations, a scavenger hunt, and lots of spooky surprises for you and your penguin friends to discover!! Let us know your hauntingly creative plans. For those of you who already have a toy and a code to redeem for online items, I wanted to let you know that the pumpkin basket item will be available for everyone at the Halloween Party. If you’ve got a code and you miss getting it at the party, even after the party is over, you’ll be able to unlock it from this Treasure Book.

In Other News: On Thursday, the final 20 winners of the igloo decorating contest will be announced in the newspaper! Winners will get a very special limited edition postcard delivered by Penguin Mail!

Until then…Waddle On!

Hello Penguins!

We love how you are having so much fun with the 3rd Anniversary celebrations! Thanks for all the amazing feedback.

Lots of new Club Penguin toys have finally arrived! But there’s more to come. I can’t say too much yet, but it’s something many of you have suggested in the past that the team’s been working on. Club Penguin Trading cards will be available soon!

You’ll be able to buy the cards in mid-November and the coolest part is that in addition to playing the game with your friends at home, the cards will connect to a brand new multiplayer game coming soon to Club Penguin. With them, you’ll be able enter a code into Club Penguin and get on a ‘fast path’ to master the new game. I’ll have more info on the new game coming to Club Penguin soon, but for now here’s a sneak peek of the Trading Cards you’ll be able to play at home!

Club Penguin Trading Cards will be available mid November at Toys”R”Us – just in time to connect with the newest Club Penguin game. Let us know what you think – and tell us any ideas you have for the cards!!

Until then…Waddle on!

Rockhopper Finding guide:

234545.png

[Update: CP Has "fixed" this amazing Glitch. I'm gonna leave it here because it was amazing. ] First, you gotta check if he’s online or not. Type in his username in the log in screen and type in a random password (at least five digits long). It will say he’s banned if he’s offline. It will say ‘Incorrect password’ if he’s online. If he’s offline, stop and try again later. [This cheat technically still works because CP has made it so that RH is ALWAYS online, just as long as his ship's still docked at the Beach]

Cheat #2:[Still Works] If Rockhopper’s ship, The Migrator, is on the homepage, clubpenguin.com, and his ship is also at the Beach in Club Penguin, then he is probably online somewhere on a server.

Alright, finding Rockhopper. That’s something just about every penguin out there wants to do (If they haven’t found him already). You can talk to him and you can get a free background!

For one thing, Rockhopper is Club Penguin’s account, he can be a bot or a real person (depending on the time of day). So that means he can be on any server, in any place he wants to be. However, sometimes he likes to go on these servers a lot (that doesn’t mean you can’t find him in other servers): Mammoth, Frozen, Mittens, Rocky Road, and any highly populated Servers (the ones on the left column of the first page of the U.S. servers list, for example). But nowadays, he can be on any server!

Now, finding him is kinda tough, but it can be done. Two helpful factors are: that he’s slightly larger than the average penguin (he’s bigger, thus easier to spot if you’re in the same room as him). And there’s always a flood of penguins around him (they’re usually all red). And one surefire way of knowing he’s in a room is that you can’t get into the room because its full and there’s hundreds of penguins clobbering to get into the room. Also, he moves around the rooms in Club Penguin every so often if he’s on the Server. For example, he might appear in the Ship Hold, then move to the Beach, then the Town, then the Iceberg, etc. But sometimes he stays for a very short (or long) time in one or two rooms and switches servers.

rockyredsigh.jpg

And he’s most likely to be in the Dock, the Beach, the Iceberg, the Pizza Parlor, the Plaza, and (this is the one he’s most on) his ship, The Migrator (Update: RH’s ship sank. Scratch that. ~Watex). Basically, rooms that have a large penguin capacity, unlike the Mountain Top which can only hold around 20+ penguins before its full.

As for times he’s on, he’s most usually on during peak hours (times when everyone’s on), or he can also be on during random times of the day and night when there’s a moderate amount of people or no people at all.

Methods of finding him

First, you gotta check if he’s online or not. Type in his username in the log in screen and type in a random password (at least five digits long). It will say he’s banned if he’s offline. It will say ‘Incorrect password’ if he’s online. If he’s offline, stop and try again later.

Here is a pretty good method: Once you find out he’s on, Get onto my Bribble chatbox. Sometimes the people on there will help you. Check the servers I mentioned above. Then check servers that have more dots than they usually have. For example, you see Snow Globe or Tundra has 1 or 2 more dots than the servers around them. GO THERE! And for every server, check the places I mentioned (Beach, Dock, etc.). I suggest staying at a crowded place for a bit if someone might shout where RH is.

Update: I suggest using Miniclip.com’s Club Penguin because you don’t get taken to the home page everytime you log off. Also, RH used to give the eye patch, but now, he only gives the free background.

Here is the method I use the most: I do the same thing as above, but I don’t go onto my chatbox. Instead, I rapidly skim through all the major servers I mentioned earlier, then any unusually populated servers, then servers with names relating to Rockhopper or a mission (Rocky Road, Polar Bear…), then servers at the top or bottom of the page. I usually find him by the time I search unusually populated servers. Sometimes, a person shouts out where he is. I skim through all the places I mentioned, especially the Dock and Beach. I’ve actually found him a lot of times on Tundra server. He even came to my Birthday bash! (I posted the pictures a while ago) And if I still can’t find him, I go to Bribble for help.

One very tedious and dull way to find him is to check if he’s on, and then check all the servers I mentioned in all the places I mentioned. Then start checking servers with three dots or more (it doesn’t have to be only U.S. Servers, check all nations). And if you still don’t find him check all the other servers with two or less dots and the places on those. And if you still don’t find him, He probably logged off or changed servers/rooms while you were checking. And on top of that, this might not work because he can change servers any time he wants to (but he usually changes every 10-25 minutes so don’t worry).

A somewhat effective way is to check servers that are not usually filled up but are oddly full or close to full for some reason, and go look on there. I’ve actually gotten this to work before.

Another way is going on the most popular servers in the most popular places and just wait for news of him. It could take a few minutes or a few hours (ugh, you should try another method if it takes that long), but someone just might shout “RH is on Mittens!” or “He’s on Mammoth!” or “Rockhopper’s on Tundra! WOOT!”. If they do, FIRST check to make sure Rockhopper’s not on the server you’re are right now. If you are, don’t log out, they’re probably trying to trick you, Rockhopper might just be in that server on the Ship Hold. Try double checking to make sure he’s not in any of the rooms on that Server, then rush on to that server before it fills up and rush to the ship hold (he’s most likely here) before that fills up as well. This has worked a few times for me. And sometimes he appears first on the Iceberg so check there.

Once you find him

diamondsandpearls.jpg

Once you find him, its awesome! There’s about two dozen penguins there asking him questions and HE ANSWERS THEM (with a pirate accent). Also, you get a free Rockhopper autographed background if you try buddying him (You can’t buddy him….but you can put him on your ignore list if you want), you can go to his “home” (The Migrator is his home. Update: DON’T CLICK FOR HIS SHIP. Since the Migrator sunk, you won’t go there, you will just lose connection ~Watex), and you can send him postcards and I hear he sometimes sends one back! And you can follow him around when he walks around Club Penguin.

er323.png

Some other tips if you’ve read the guide and you still have trouble finding him (Please actually try looking after you’ve read the guide above), these mini-guides have pictures of Rockhopper and a few more tips but they’re very outdated, and sometimes repeat what I’ve already said in the guide:

http://watex.wordpress.com/2007/04/27/rockhopper-when-and-where-is-he-on/

http://watex.wordpress.com/2007/04/30/updated-some-stuff/

http://watex.wordpress.com/2007/03/09/rockhopper-and-all-his-excitement/

http://watex.wordpress.com/2007/02/14/rockhopper-sighted/

Remember, Rockhopper’s not always on Club Penguin.

Rockhopper FAQ

When was the first time you spotted Rockhopper?

A couple weeks after I created this website. Which would be early February 2007.

How many times have you spotted him?

Now? Definitely over 10. Sometimes by complete accident. Sometimes through intense searching

What was the most funniest time when you found him?

I found him once a few hours before one of my Website parties and we paraded around CP for like an hour. I found him once 10 minutes after the start of my Birthday Bash party on CP on his Ship Hold. It was fun. All the orange penguins crowded around him! It was almost like CP payed a visit to my party.

Would you ever like to see him again?

Well, I’ve seen him enough times. Of course I’d like to see him again if he gives another free item (other than the eyepatch or background). And/or if something happens on CP concerning him. Then I can question him.

Any advice you should give me once I find him?

Well, maybe ignore him once you find him to prove to your friends he’s real. But don’t do it until the last possible second, otherwise you won’t hear/read what he’s saying.

What should I wear when I’m around him?

Anything. But most people wear pirate clothes and red paint. I go all out: eyepatch, bandana, beard [If I have one] or bird, red paint, pirate shoes [when I had them], Rockhopper’s background [the one he gave as a free item on his ship once], Rockhopper key pin, and fishing rod [another free item from him].

Does he move around a lot?

Hmmmm. Most of the time he does. And when he does, he DOES. He runs around the place. He moves from the Cove, to the Town, to the Forts, etc. But don’t worry, he stays in a single place for at least 5 minutes sometimes. Even more if he’s at the Beach/Ship/Hold.
